About Us
Porter Sargent Handbooks began describing enriching summer opportunities for children in 1915, when the first edition of The Handbook of Private Schools featured a section on summer camps. The Guide to Summer Camps and Summer Schools became its own volume in 1924, providing the definitive reference for residential summer programs in the United States. Over the years the Guide has expanded to describe English-language summer opportunities in the US and abroad, including academic, music and arts, travel, special-needs and sports programs and much more.
Now SummerProgramSearch.com delivers the GuideÕs wealth of summer program data to a whole new audience on the web Ð at no charge to users. Drawing on our exhaustive database of camp information, updated regularly by program staff, the site makes it easier than ever for parents, educators and consultants to match children and teens with the perfect summer opportunity.
Our detailed search function allows users to choose from 12 program categories and specify gender served, residential or day options, and location -- in all 50 states and around the world. Comprehensive program listings cover ages and grades served, dates and session lengths and costs for more than 1600 programs. Featured Programs supplement their basic listing with photos, a detailed description and an in-depth profile providing detailed facts on admissions, enrollment and staff breakdowns, financial aid and more alongside website and contact information.
In 2007 Porter Sargent Handbooks joined forces with Alloy Education, a division of Alloy Media + Marketing that integrates the resources of the nation's largest teen marketing company with Alloy Education's proven experience in direct marketing, lead generation, custom publishing, research, brand management and database sales. As innovators of products and services for teens and young adults, Alloy Media + Marketing creates information connections to motivate your audience. Our print, entertainment, events, field marketing, and web properties target teens as they begin their transition to young adulthood.
